Valedictory Session of ODYM at Nagpur Seminary

Nagpur: Every minute …every second in the Seminary is valuable. I practiced punctuality from here. The days in the Seminary is a treasure in my life.” said Joshua, one of the active participants of the Orthodox Diaspora Youth Meet (ODYM) 2017 from Calcutta Diocese. Joshua was speaking at the valedictory function after the Holy Qurbana on 29th January 2017 at St Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary, Nagpur. The Principal distributed Appreciation certificates to the delegates in the Valedictory function. The three-day conference was based on the theme “Vibrant Orthodoxy in a Tiring World”.

Rev. Fr. Dr. Bijesh Philip, Rev.Fr. Dr. Shaji P. John, Rev. Fr. Thomas Ninan, Rev.Fr. Yohannan K, Rev.Fr. John Mathew, Rev.Fr. Joshy P. Jacob and Rev. Fr. Jobin Varghese took classes on “Basics of Orthodox Faith”, “Orthodox Christian Apologetics”, “Orthodox Church’s Vision of Mission”, “Beauty of Orthodox Worship”, “Musicological Aspects of the Church” and “A Reflection on Holy Qurbana”. The talks were synchronized during the programme with the music classes and prayers of the Seminary.

The participants also paid a visit to Prerana, a school for special children under the auspices of the Seminary. Delegates from Dhaulpur, Agra , Mulund, Kalyan, Bhilai, Nashik, Secundarabad, Baruch, etc attended the conference and expressed their happiness towards their enrichment. The Seminary Students felicitated the delegates by presenting a kit. The Seminary faculty Rev.Fr. John Mathew and the final year student Rev. Dn. Jubin Thomas gave leadership to organize the ODYM-2017.
